Imperial Park is set in the picturesque, countryside of Summerhill, North Canterbury,
In the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. We are situated 35 minutes from Christchurch Airport.
We are primarily a racehorse breeding and agistment farm, involving everything from
foaling down mares – weaning foals – to preparing yearlings for the sale ring.

Owned and operated by Lynn Hodgson, Imperial Park is
renowned for its quality presentation of its show team and quality stock.
With a focus on breeding unique quality riding ponies, with no
intentions of becoming a large stud.
  We employ a full time staff member all year round and the team grows
to three or four for the busiest times, the breeding season and
preparing for the yearling sales.

My love of Arabian horses is reflected in my choice of riding
horses and my selection of broodmares.

I (Lynn) have not been involved in the competitive world
for a few years as I have concentrated on my business interests
in the racing industry. During this time I was still actively riding & enjoying
my horses - Autumn Fantasy (Fanta) and Imperial Park Fire 'n' Ice (Fire),
I also managed to bred the occassional foal.
I started showing again last season with the purchase of the
welsh pony stallion ‘Ngalaire Copperlight‘ and my two year old
pinto filly which I bred ‘Imperial Park Tinted Stardust’.
I felt that I needed a change of scenery away from the race
horses and have definitely enjoyed returning to the show scene.

Autumn Fantasy 'Fanta' rising 30, is enjoying a well earned
retirement but still enjoys the occasional hack, while Fire 'N' Ice 'Fire' is my current riding horse.

As if I don't have enough to do, I also have a love for Toy Poodles.

 Sooty - My dear old (12 yrs) silver boy the retired rabbiter.
Sooty very sadly passed away in early 2010.

Angel  - My gorgeous white girl whom I refer to quite often as the
            'devils angel' is the present Show Girl of the team.

Inka - My very cute little party coloured boy (black - silver/white markings)

Two Cats (Milly and Nala) - no doubt you will see their photos on the website
  getting into mischief and sorting the poodles out.
